SEH Cat Care Standard Policies

SEH Cat Care — Policies & Care Standards

At SEH Cat Care, my goal is to provide calm, reliable, and respectful care for your cat while you’re away. These policies are designed to ensure a safe, stress-free experience for your pet, your home, and the sitter.

Thank you for taking a moment to review the care standards below.


Hours of Service

Drop-in visits are available by appointment during the following times:

  • Monday–Friday: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (limited availability)
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Weekend midday refresh visits are available for multi-cat households or finicky eaters.
Midday weekday visits are not currently offered due to a full-time work schedule, but limited daytime openings may be available in the future as the business grows.


Pricing & Service Area

Standard Cat Check-In Visit (30 minutes): $40
Includes feeding, fresh water, litter care, wellness observation, and companionship.

Additional Cats: +$5 per additional cat per visit
Weekend Midday Refresh Visits: $30 per visit

Service Radius & Travel Fees

Visits within a 10-mile radius are included.
Homes outside of 10 miles may be accepted based on availability and include a travel fee:

  • 10–15 miles: +$10 per visit
  • 15+ miles: By request only

Holiday Scheduling

Holiday periods fill quickly and include a +$25 per visit holiday fee due to high demand and limited availability.

Major holidays include:

  • New Year’s Eve (Dec 31)
  • New Year’s Day (Jan 1)
  • Easter Weekend (Friday–Sunday)
  • Memorial Day Weekend
  • Independence Day (July 4)
  • Labor Day Weekend
  • Thanksgiving Day & Weekend (Thu–Sun)
  • Christmas Eve (Dec 24)
  • Christmas Day (Dec 25)
  • Day After Christmas (Dec 26)
  • New Year’s Weekend (Dec 30–Jan 1)

Advance booking is strongly recommended.


Wellness Check Policy

Each visit includes a brief wellness observation to ensure your cat appears safe, comfortable, and behaving normally.

This includes noting:

  • Appetite and food intake
  • Water availability
  • Litter box activity
  • General behavior and mood
  • Visible signs of discomfort or distress

Wellness checks are not veterinary care, but they provide peace of mind while you are away.


When I Will Contact You

I will contact you promptly if I observe anything outside of your cat’s normal routine, including:

  • Refusal to eat for an extended period
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Signs of injury or limping
  • No litter box use or unusual output
  • Labored breathing or visible distress
  • Sudden behavioral changes or excessive hiding
  • Accidents outside the litter box
  • Any unsafe home concerns

If I am unable to reach you, I will contact your listed emergency contact.


Medication & Special Care Policy

SEH Cat Care provides routine care visits and is best suited for cats who do not require complex medical support.

  • Basic medication support may be offered on a case-by-case basis for calm, cooperative cats with written instructions provided in advance.
  • Medication will not be administered to aggressive, highly fearful, or difficult-to-handle cats.
  • Injectable medications and complex medical treatments are not provided at this time.

Special care needs (prescription diets, timed feedings, senior monitoring) must be discussed prior to booking.


Flea & Parasite Disclosure Policy

For the safety of all pets (including my own at home), clients must disclose any known flea or parasite concerns within the past 30 days, including:

  • Fleas
  • Ticks
  • Mites
  • Skin irritation or parasite exposure

If parasites are discovered during a visit, I will notify you immediately. Services may need to be paused until proper treatment has occurred.


Meet-and-Greet Policy

Whenever possible, a brief meet-and-greet is recommended before the first scheduled visit. This allows us to:

  • Review your cat’s routine
  • Confirm feeding and litter instructions
  • Discuss home access
  • Ensure your cat is comfortable with a new caregiver

Meet-and-greets are especially encouraged for first-time clients, shy cats, or multi-cat households.


Key Handling & Home Access Policy

Your home’s privacy and security are treated with the utmost respect.

Access may be provided through:

  • Key handoff
  • Lockbox
  • Garage or door code
  • Other secure arrangement

All entry information is kept confidential and used only for scheduled visits. Homes will always be locked and secured upon leaving.

Keys may be returned after service or securely held for repeat clients upon request.
